Whipped Chocolate Buttercream Frosting.

This silky smooth and fluffy frosting is the perfect complement to any cake or cupcake flavor.  I love chocolate cake and chocolate frosting. My all-time favorite. It’s not too sweet, but fluffy, and yummy. My youngest son said Mommy can you make this frosting for every cake you make. So this frosting is that good. You better try it. One thing is a when you make this buttercream frosting make sure to check your mixer’s speed and put the whipping cream 1 tbsp at a time.  Buttercream is softer and more spreadable than most icings. Use for icing cakes, piping borders, writing, flowers, etc. Buttercream can also be prepared with all shortening, resulting in pure white icing.

 Good luck and enjoy 😉

This is the Best Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. So easy to make. You’ll never use store-bought Chocolate Frosting again.

Ingredients:

– 1  1/2 cups (340g) unsalted butter, at room temperature

– 4 cups (500g)  sifted powdered sugar ( icing sugar )

– 3/4 cup (94g)  sifted cocoa powder

– 4 -5 tablespoons (60- 75  ml) heavy whipping cream

– 2 teaspoon (10 ml) vanilla extract

–  pinch table salt to tasteDSC_0401

Instructions:

  1. In a big bowl sift the icing sugar, salt, and cocoa powder set aside. DSC_0396DSC_0397DSC_0400DSC_0402

2.  In a bowl of an electric stand mixer, (or in your hand mixer) fitted with whisk attachment whisk butter on medium-high speed until very pale and fluffy or about 4,5 minutes. Add dry ingredients little by little and mix until thoroughly combined.  DSC_0391DSC_03963. One tablespoon at a time adds in heavy cream ( whipping cream ) until you have the correct consistency.  Add vanilla extract. Be sure to stop at least once and scrape the bowl. Once all cream has been added and the mixture is mostly combined, turn off the mixer and scrape down the sides of the bowl. If your frosting appears too dry, add more cream, only one tablespoon at a time until it reaches the right consistency. If it appears to wet and does not hold its form, add more sifted icing sugar, only one tablespoon at a time until it reaches the right consistency. DSC_0413

4. Now turn the mixer onto medium-high to high and whisk for about 5 minutes or until the mixture is lighter and fluffier. The frosting will be shiny and seem to have many large air bubbles throughout and this is exactly what we are going for.

It’s incredibly creamy silky, smooth, and rich chocolate buttercream, it holds its shape beautifully.

Please Enjoy 😉
