Happy Holiday Everyone!

Incredibly simple and very easy to make  sparkling sugared cranberries – perfect for any holiday snacking or garnishing desserts. 2 years ago on my Christmas party I made a chocolate cake and garnished with a sugared cranberries. It was very beautiful and tasty.  My friends loved it.  Also I used for my cocktails.

These would great to do with kids, of course they’ll have sticky little hands but it’s ok it’s a  fun. I will do it again this year with my boys 😉

Good luck and enjoy 😉

Aren’t they pretty? Looks like a jewels.  Love the color of these colorful cranberries.

Fresh cranberries soaked in simple syrup then rolled in white sugar. These sparkling sugar coated cranberries are the perfect holiday snack. They’re great as a holiday snack for your family or for your guests.  Mine were mostly for me 😉 I just love it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 cups of cranberries
  • extra sugar for coat the cranberries (fine sugar, coarse sugar or decorating sugar)

  1. In a small pot, heat water and add 1 cup of  sugar until the sugar has completely dissolves (Do not boil or the cranberries may pop when added) Allow the simple sugar to cool until it’s just warm to touch. Pour the simple syrup in a large bowl.  Add the fresh cranberries and mix until all the cranberries are coated in the simple syrup.  The cranberries should be sticky but not wet.
  2. Using a slotted spoon, remove cranberries and place on a rack and allow to drip dry for about 20-30 minutes.
  3. Spread the sugar onto a rimmed baking sheet or in bowl. I used bowl. Working in few at time and roll the drained cranberries in the sugar. Kids love this part. They will love to lick their fingers 😉 Coat the cranberries twice. That way you will have a fully coated cranberries.

4. Let the berries dry for a couple of hours on a wire rack or on plate . They are ready when the sugar is slightly firm, like a crust. Make sure none of them are touching each other.

5. Store the cranberries uncovered on a pan or shallow dish. If you cover them or let them touch each other, they will get soggy. That is it. Now you have a beautiful festive sugared cranberries. They’re so lovely and look great on your holiday table.

Have a colorful, tasty, and Blessing Holidays with your loved ones…

Note: The type of sugar you use is completely up to you.  I’m thinking about to use coarse sugar next time. Will post pictures of course 😉
