Asian people love to eat bean sprouts. Especially Korean people. It’s a very healthy vegetable. There are many recipes for bean sprouts. All kinds of soups, side dishes, and stir-fries. This time I will introduce you to one of my favorite side dishes. This dish is very simple but so flavorful, perfect with any kind of meat dish. Please enjoy 😉
Ingredients:
- 1 bag of bean sprouts ( about 450 gr)
- 1/2 cup of water
- pinch of salt + more if you need
- 1 tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
- 1,2 stalks scallions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder ( or 2 cloves garlic, minced)
- 2 tsp soy sauce ( Korean would be wonderful )
- 1 tbsp sesame oil ( Korean)
- 1/2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 small green or, small hot chili pepper chopped( optional, if you like spicy food)
- pinch of sugar
Directions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, and then add the bean sprouts and cook for about 5, 6 minutes. (Do not open the lid during cooking time. ) Remove with a slotted spoon and immediately rinse with cold water and pat dry.
2. Add the bean sprouts to a medium bowl and add all the seasonings, chopped scallions, chili powder, sugar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, soy sauce, and garlic powder. (If you need more salt you can toss it in.) Stir very gently with your hand ( you can wear gloves). Put in an airtight container and keep in the fridge for up to 2 or 3 days. I added some green peppers it worked. Serve with rice and any meat dish.
Enjoy 😉
