Chocolate dipped oreos

Rate this post

They are the easiest, prettiest cookies you will make this holiday season.  Covering things in chocolate is one of the best ways to make yummy and creative desserts without too much hassle.  It’s my favorite. I do this for Christmas and several other holidays, and they always turn out great!

You just need a few Oreos and dark or white chocolate, and some decorations.  So have fun and enjoy 😉

  • 20 lollipop sticks

  1. Place parchment paper or aluminum foil on a work surface. Place a cooling rack over the paper. Insert lollipop sticks into the cream filling of each cookie. ( see my pictures) DSC_0033DSC_0039DSC_0035DSC_0036DSC_0037DSC_0021
  2. Melt half a cup of chocolate with 1/2 tsp shortening in a small bowl in the microwave; stir until smooth. Once the chocolate is melted, use a spoon or tongs to dunk Oreos in the chocolate. Make sure they are completely covered. Set on wax paper. Before the oreo sets, you need to decorate, so be ready with the sprinkles then put them in the freezer for about 30 minutes. (decorate again with melted chocolate if you need)

  1. Continue dipping and decorating until you finish 20 cookies! Allow to cool, then eat! Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Or you can wrap them up one by one and freeze them. (use a Ziploc bag or piping bag to drizzle the melted chocolate over the Oreos)
